I believe in people. Our job as designers is to help people be happy, that’s it really.

I continually ask two questions: are we considering the people in this discussion/decision/development? and are we making something work for people not people work for it?

If we do our jobs well, the answer is yes.

People applies to everyone in our purview - our clients, their clients, fellow designers, colleagues who aren’t designers. Is it impossible to please everyone all of the time? Yes. Is it possible to work towards that? Yes.

I have over 20 years of experience in all aspects of design. Currently, I’m spending my time on services and UX. I love to mentor designers, help them grow and understand their goals. I’ve directed over 3000 projects while working in government, healthcare, education, retail, and tech sectors.

Personally, I have a cat named Nish, otherwise known as my little bruiser. I have a regular bridge night. And when I say I have a regular bridge night, I feel like I’m 90 - but it’s a continual challenge that I love. I’ll go almost anywhere if there’s a Still or Rothko painting there.

Here’s my headshot and then a shot of me in my happy place.
